Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Baking
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined, then stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft, then let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For extra chewiness, underbake the cookies slightly. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon for a warmer flavor profile.
