Ingredients

Main
  • 1.5 lb chicken thighs
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Hot Honey Sauce
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce such as Frank's RedHot
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Equipment

  • skillet
  • tongs
  • shallow dish

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels; then, in a shallow dish, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, and dredge each chicken thigh in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
Cooking Chicken
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken thighs and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through; then, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Making Hot Honey Sauce
  1. Reduce heat to medium, then add honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, and garlic powder to the same skillet. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Combine
  1. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly with the hot honey sauce. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious hot honey chicken!

Notes

For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the flour mixture or an additional splash of hot sauce to the honey mixture. This dish pairs well with rice or a simple green salad. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan when cooking the chicken to ensure even browning and crispiness.
