Donut Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together apple cider, egg, and melted butter.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown and cooked through.
Topping Preparation
- While the donuts are still warm, prepare the topping.
- In a shallow dish, combine sugar and cinnamon.
- In another shallow dish, melt the butter.
- Dip each warm donut into the melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated.

Notes
For an extra apple flavor, reduce some apple cider on the stovetop until it thickens before adding it to the batter.
