Classic Cranberry Sauce
- Combine cranberries, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let cool completely before serving.
Spiced Cranberry Sauce
- Combine cranberries, brown sugar, orange juice, cinnamon stick, and whole cloves in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens. Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves before serving.
Citrus Cranberry Sauce
- Combine cranberries, sugar, orange zest, orange juice, lemon zest, lemon juice, and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens. Let cool completely before serving.
Notes
For best results, make cranberry sauce at least a day in advance to allow the flavors to meld. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
