Growing Watermelon
- Plant watermelon seeds in well-draining soil mixed with compost, ensuring they receive plenty of sunlight and consistent watering.
- Allow the watermelons to grow and ripen on the vine for approximately 60-90 days, or until they sound hollow when tapped and the tendril nearest the stem is dry.
Prepare the Salad
- Once harvested, chill the watermelon, then cut it into bite-sized cubes and crumble feta cheese over it.
- Finely chop fresh mint leaves and sprinkle them over the watermelon and feta.
Assemble and Serve
- Squeeze fresh lime juice over the salad, then drizzle with balsamic glaze for added flavor.
- Gently toss the salad to combine all ingredients and serve immediately for the best taste.
Notes
For best results, ensure your watermelon plants are in a sunny spot and receive regular, deep watering. Be patient during the growing process, as it takes time for watermelons to mature. The sweetness of the watermelon will greatly enhance the flavor of your salad.
