Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Equipment

  • large bowl
  • medium bowl
  • whisk
  • griddle or frying pan

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
Cooking
  1. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter per pancake onto the hot surface.
  2. Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges look set. Flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown and cooked through; repeat this process two more times for the remaining batter, ensuring three simple flips per pancake.

Notes

For extra fluffy pancakes, let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes before cooking. Avoid overmixing the batter, as this can lead to tough pancakes. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings like syrup, fruit, or whipped cream.
