Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels, then generously season each piece with BBQ rub, ensuring even coverage.
Sauce and Baking
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, then stir in hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder until the sugar dissolves.
- Place the seasoned chicken in the prepared baking dish and brush each piece generously with the sauce.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), basting every 15 minutes with the remaining sauce.
Finishing
- For crispy skin, broil the chicken for 2-3 minutes at the end of the cooking time, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
Notes
For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce. This chicken pairs well with mashed potatoes or coleslaw.
