Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a medium baking dish by lightly greasing it.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, buffalo wing sauce, and ranch dressing, mixing until smooth.
  3. Stir in the shredded cooked chicken and 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese until all ingredients are well combined.
Baking and Serving
  1. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden.
  3. Remove from the oven, garnish with optional toppings like sliced green onions or blue cheese crumbles, and serve hot with tortilla chips and celery sticks.

Notes

For extra heat, add a dash more buffalo sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper. If you don't have ranch, blue cheese dressing works as a substitute. This dip is also fantastic when made in a slow cooker; simply combine all ingredients except for the topping cheese, cook on low for 2-3 hours until hot and bubbly, then stir in the remaining cheese and cook for another 15 minutes until melted. Serve directly from the slow cooker to keep it warm.
