Burger Patties
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
- Form the meat mixture into 12 small, thin patties, roughly the size of your Hawaiian rolls. Place patties on a plate and set aside.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through. Once cooked, transfer the patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess grease.
Assemble Sliders
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Use a serrated knife to carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected.
- Place the bottom halves of the rolls in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer 6 slices of sharp cheddar cheese over the bottom buns.
- Arrange the cooked burger patties evenly over the cheese. If using, add a layer of shaved ham over the burger patties.
- Top the patties with the remaining 3 slices of sharp cheddar cheese, then place the top halves of the Hawaiian rolls over the cheese.
Prepare Topping & Bake
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and Dijon mustard. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns.
- Sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning (or sesame seeds) evenly over the buttered rolls.
- Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. This allows the cheese to melt and the buns to warm.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the tops of the rolls are golden brown and slightly crispy.
Serve
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice into individual sliders. Serve immediately with your favorite optional toppings.
Notes
For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture before brushing on the rolls. These sliders are highly customizable – feel free to experiment with different cheeses, toppings, or even a different type of ground meat!
