  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup peanut butter
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar

Preparation
  1. Measure out 9 cups of rice cereal squares and place them into a very large bowl; set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of chocolate chips, 1/2 cup of peanut butter, and 1/4 cup of butter; microwave for 1 minute, then stir, and microwave for another 30 seconds until smooth.
Mixing
  1. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the chocolate-peanut butter mixture.
  2. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal and gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated.
  3. Transfer the coated cereal to a large resealable plastic bag, add 1.5 cups of powdered sugar, and shake vigorously until the cereal is fully coated.
Finishing
  1. Spread the Puppy Chow onto a baking sheet to cool and set, then serve and enjoy.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of salt to the chocolate mixture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
