Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat, then drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the shredded cabbage, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the skillet with the beef mixture.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
- Transfer the cabbage and beef mixture to the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Baking
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.
- Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the other seasonings. You can also substitute ground turkey for ground beef to make it a bit lighter.
