  • 1.5 lbs Ground Beef
  • 1 head Cabbage medium-sized, shredded
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 15 oz Tomato Sauce can
  • 14.5 oz Diced Tomatoes can, undrained
  • 0.5 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese shredded, for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat, then drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the shredded cabbage, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the skillet with the beef mixture.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then cover and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
  5. Transfer the cabbage and beef mixture to the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.
  2. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the other seasonings. You can also substitute ground turkey for ground beef to make it a bit lighter.
