Prepare the Dough
- Combine flour, water, and salt in a mixing bowl; knead until a smooth and elastic dough forms. Cover the dough and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
Make the Filling
- In a large bowl, mix the shredded cabbage, chopped onion, grated carrot, and ginger. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper, then thoroughly combine.
Assemble Dumplings
- Roll the rested dough into a thin sheet and cut out small, round wrappers. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each wrapper, then fold and crimp the edges to seal and form the dumpling shape.
Cook the Dumplings
- Boil, steam, or pan-fry the dumplings until they are cooked through and the wrappers are tender. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Feel free to add minced garlic or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling for extra flavor. These dumplings are delicious served with a soy-ginger dipping sauce.
