Instructions
  1. Combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl; mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form into 1/2-inch thick patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat, adding a tablespoon of oil if needed.
  4. Cook the chicken patties for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Lightly toast the burger buns during the last few minutes of cooking the patties.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a cooked patty on the bottom bun, topping with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese (if using), and your favorite sauce, then covering with the top bun.

Notes

Ensure the chicken patties are cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for food safety. Avoid overmixing the chicken mixture, as this can lead to tough burgers. Customize your burgers with various toppings like pickles, bacon, or avocado.
