Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt, then set aside.
Mixing
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until just combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until they are just incorporated.
- By hand, stir in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, ensuring they are spaced about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges turn golden and the centers remain slightly soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.
