Dinner Rolls (Soft)

These soft and fluffy dinner rolls are incredibly quick to make, perfect for any meal when you need a delicious bread side in under an hour.

Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk, warm
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg beaten

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and beaten egg to the dry ingredients, then mix until a shaggy dough forms.
Kneading and Rising
  1. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 15 minutes, until doubled in size.
Shaping and Baking
  1. Gently punch down the dough, divide it into 12 equal pieces, and shape each piece into a smooth ball.
  2. Arrange the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan, cover, and let them rise for another 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

For extra shine, brush the baked rolls with melted butter immediately after removing them from the oven.
