Preparation
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add the warm milk, melted butter, and beaten egg to the dry ingredients, then mix until a shaggy dough forms.
Kneading and Rising
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 15 minutes, until doubled in size.
Shaping and Baking
- Gently punch down the dough, divide it into 12 equal pieces, and shape each piece into a smooth ball.
- Arrange the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan, cover, and let them rise for another 10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Notes
For extra shine, brush the baked rolls with melted butter immediately after removing them from the oven.
