Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Skewers

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl, ensuring they are well coated with the marinade.
  2. Thread the marinated shrimp onto skewers; if using wooden skewers, remember to soak them in water beforehand to prevent burning. Let the shrimp marinate for 15 minutes at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to 30 minutes for deeper flavor.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 375-450°F / 190-230°C). Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent the shrimp from sticking.
  2. Place the shrimp skewers on the preheated grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Avoid overcooking to maintain the tenderness of the shrimp.
Serving
  1. Remove the grilled shrimp skewers from the grill and serve immediately. These skewers are delicious on their own or paired with a fresh salad or rice.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade. You can also add some vegetables like bell peppers or cherry tomatoes to the skewers for a more complete meal.
