Growing Brussels Sprouts
  1. Choose a suitable location in your garden that receives full sun and has well-draining soil, preparing the soil by mixing in compost to enrich it.
  2. Plant your Brussels sprout seeds or seedlings approximately 2 feet apart in rows, ensuring proper spacing for growth.
  3. Water the newly planted sprouts thoroughly and maintain consistent moisture, avoiding both waterlogging and excessive dryness.
  4. Apply a balanced fertilizer to the plants every 3-4 weeks to provide essential nutrients for healthy development.
  5. Once plants are established, apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds.
  6. Monitor for pests and diseases, addressing any issues promptly with appropriate organic or chemical treatments.
  7. Harvest Brussels sprouts when they are firm and about 1 inch in diameter, typically starting from the bottom of the stalk and working your way up.

Notes

Brussels sprouts grow best in cooler weather and can be planted in early spring for a summer harvest or in mid-to-late summer for a fall/winter harvest. Ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal diseases.
