How to grow delicious 5 Pumpkin Bread

This recipe is not about making pumpkin bread, but about gardening. It teaches you how to grow your own pumpkins to eventually make pumpkin bread.

Ingredients
  

Pumpkin Growing Supplies
  • 1 packet Pumpkin seeds
  • 2 cups Compost
  • 1 bag Gardening soil
  • to taste Water as needed

Equipment

  • Spade
  • Gardening gloves
  • Watering can or hose
  • Trellis or cage

Method
 

Planting
  1. Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-draining soil.
  2. Dig a mound of soil about 1 foot high and 3 feet wide, incorporating compost.
  3. Plant 3-5 pumpkin seeds 1 inch deep in the center of the mound.
Care
  1. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
  2. Once vines start to grow, provide support like a trellis or cage.
  3. Fertilize every 2-3 weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
Harvesting
  1. Pumpkins are ready to harvest when they are fully colored and the rind is hard.

This recipe is for growing pumpkins, not baking. You will need to harvest your pumpkins before you can make pumpkin bread.
