Main Ingredients
  • 2 cans green beans
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can fried onions

Equipment

  • oven
  • 1.5-quart baking dish
  • medium bowl

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grab a 1.5-quart baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper until well combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the green bean mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
  2. Remove the casserole from the oven, sprinkle the fried onions evenly over the top, and return it to the oven for another 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder to the green bean mixture. You can also use fresh or frozen green beans; if using fresh, blanch them first. For a richer taste, try using heavy cream instead of milk, or add some shredded cheese to the topping. Shredded cheddar or Parmesan cheese works well.
