Ingredients

For the "Soil" and "Planting"
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Cold butter, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup Ice water
  • 5 seeds Apple seeds
For the "Apple Filling"
  • 6 medium Fresh apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Pastry blender or fork
  • Rolling pin
  • 9-inch pie plate
  • Oven

Method

Prepping the "Garden"
  1. Combine flour and sugar in a large bowl, then cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add ice water, mixing until a dough forms, then divide in half and chill for 30 minutes.
Planting the Seeds
  1. On a floured surface, roll out one dough half and press it into a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Arrange the 5 apple seeds evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
Growing the "Apples"
  1. In a separate bowl, combine sliced apples with cinnamon and sugar.
  2. Pour the apple mixture over the seeds in the pie crust, ensuring even distribution.
Baking the "Pie"
  1. Roll out the remaining dough half and place it over the apple mixture, crimping the edges to seal.
  2. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

Notes

This recipe is a playful concept; apple pies, unfortunately, cannot be grown from seeds. Enjoy the magic of baking a pie the traditional way!
