- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, beaten egg, whole wheat breadcrumbs, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined, but be careful not to overmix.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form them into patties, about 1-inch thick.
Cooking
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Once the pan is hot, carefully place the turkey patties in the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the burgers from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve on whole-wheat buns with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, onion, and a light sauce for a complete meal. These burgers are also great served bun-less with a side salad.
