Cooking Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until it runs clear, then set it aside.
- Melt butter or heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat; sauté onion until translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir in the rinsed rice, salt, and pepper; cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly until the rice grains are lightly toasted.
- Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan tightly with a lid, and simmer for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let it stand, still covered, for 5 minutes to allow the rice to fully absorb the liquid and steam.
- Fluff the rice with a fork, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of saffron threads or a bay leaf to the broth along with the rice. Ensure the lid fits tightly; this is crucial for perfectly cooked, fluffy rice. Do not lift the lid during cooking or the resting period.
