Preparation
- Toss the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil, then let it marinate for 15 minutes.
- Whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch for the sauce.
Cooking
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, then remove the beef and set aside.
- Add broccoli florets to the same skillet and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Add minced garlic and grated ginger and stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour in the prepared sauce and stir constantly until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
Serving
- Serve the Chinese Beef and Broccoli immediately over cooked rice.
Notes
For extra tenderness, you can velvet the beef by adding a pinch of baking soda to the marinade. Adjust the spice level by adding red pepper flakes to the sauce. Serve with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for garnish.
