Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
  • 3 large Ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar packed
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter 1 stick, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Loaf pan
  • Mixing bowls (2)
  • Whisk
  • Spatula

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan by greasing it.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. In a separate large bowl, mash the ripe bananas thoroughly until smooth.
Mixing and Baking
  1. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and mix until just combined.
  2. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing only until moistened without overmixing.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling
  1. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use very ripe bananas with plenty of brown spots; this adds natural sweetness and moisture. Avoid overmixing the batter, which can lead to a tough loaf.
