  • 0.5 cup cilantro chopped
  • 1 cup red cabbage shredded

  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
Sauce
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp sriracha or to taste

Equipment

  • skillet
  • mixing bowls

Method

Prepare the Shrimp
  1. Pat the peeled and deveined shrimp dry with a paper towel, then toss them with the chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl until evenly coated.
Cook the Shrimp
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with a tablespoon of oil; once hot, add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
Warm the Tortillas
  1. While the shrimp are cooking, warm the corn or flour tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds per side, or microwave them briefly until soft and pliable.
Make the Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, and sriracha until well combined, then taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Assemble the Tacos
  1. Divide the cooked shrimp evenly among the warm tortillas, then top with sliced avocado, shredded red cabbage, fresh cilantro, and a drizzle of the spicy mayonnaise sauce.
Serve
  1. Serve the shrimp tacos immediately with extra lime wedges on the side and enjoy your quick 3-star meal.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice mix. Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the shrimp to ensure they cook evenly and get a nice sear.
