Bolognese Sauce
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart with a spoon.
- Drain any excess fat, then add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, oregano, salt, and pepper; bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for at least 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Cooking Pasta
- While the sauce simmers, cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente.
Serving
- Drain the pasta and divide it among serving plates, then top with a generous amount of Bolognese sauce.
- Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a richer flavor, simmer the Bolognese sauce longer, up to an hour. A splash of red wine can also be added with the tomatoes for extra depth. Feel free to adjust seasoning to your preference and serve with fresh basil for a gourmet touch.
