Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch pie plate.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, chopped onion, and bell pepper over medium heat until the beef is browned and the vegetables are tender, then drain any excess fat.
- Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pie plate.
Combine Ingredients
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, baking mix, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Pour this mixture evenly over the beef mixture in the pie plate.
Bake and Serve
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top during the last 5 minutes of baking, allowing it to melt.
- Let the pie stand for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of garlic powder or dried herbs to the beef mixture. This pie is also delicious with a variety of vegetables; try adding chopped mushrooms or spinach.
