  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 medium carrots thinly sliced
  • 1 large bell pepper sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Equipment

  • large skillet or wok
  • small bowl

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare the beef by slicing it into thin strips.
  2. Chop all the vegetables: broccoli into florets, carrots into thin slices, and bell pepper into strips.
Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water to create the stir-fry sauce.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat with a little oil.
  2. Add the beef strips and cook until browned on all sides, then remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper to the same skillet and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet with the vegetables.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
  6. Serve immediately with rice or noodles, if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the beef in a tablespoon of soy sauce for 15 minutes before cooking. Adjust the level of sweetness or spice to your preference by adding more honey or a pinch of red pepper flakes.
