  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup cold butter cut into small pieces

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice; toss until the apples are evenly coated.
Assemble & Bake
  1. In a separate medium bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the topping. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Spread the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the oat topping over the apples.
  3. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbling.
