Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice; toss until the apples are evenly coated.
Assemble & Bake
- In a separate medium bowl, mix together the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the topping. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the oat topping over the apples.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbling.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra treat.
