Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking powder Secret Ingredient 1
  • 0.5 tsp Baking soda Secret Ingredient 2
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1.25 cups Milk
  • 1 Large egg
  • 2 tbsp Melted butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Secret Ingredient 3

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Griddle or non-stick pan
  • Ladle
  • Spatula

Method

Make the Batter
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients until well combined.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
Cook the Pancakes
  1. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or non-stick pan over medium heat.
  2. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter per pancake onto the hot surface.
  3. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through, then serve immediately.

Notes

For extra fluffy pancakes, let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes before cooking. This allows the baking powder and soda to activate properly.
