Method
 

Prepare the Cake

  3. Pour the cake batter evenly into the prepared baking pan and set aside.
Make the "Earthquake" Filling
  1. In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined and smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the diced fresh strawberries.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Drop spoonfuls of the strawberry cream cheese filling over the chocolate cake batter in the pan.
