  • 2 cloves garlic cloves minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 1 loaf baguette sliced
Optional (for serving)
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes for a kick

Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Oven

Method

Preparation
  1. Dice the tomatoes into small, uniform pieces.
  2. Mince the garlic cloves finely.
  3. Chop the fresh basil into small pieces.
  4. Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
Assembling the Bruschetta
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, and chopped basil.
  2. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze, then season with salt and pepper.
  3. Toss gently to ensure all ingredients are well combined and coated.
  4. Arrange the sliced baguette pieces on a baking sheet and toast lightly in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes, until golden brown.
  5. Spoon the tomato mixture generously over each toasted baguette slice.
  6. Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use ripe, in-season tomatoes. If desired, you can lightly rub toasted baguette slices with a whole garlic clove before spooning on the tomato mixture for an extra garlic kick.
