Preparation
- Dice the tomatoes into small, uniform pieces.
- Mince the garlic cloves finely.
- Chop the fresh basil into small pieces.
- Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
Assembling the Bruschetta
- In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, and chopped basil.
- Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze, then season with salt and pepper.
- Toss gently to ensure all ingredients are well combined and coated.
- Arrange the sliced baguette pieces on a baking sheet and toast lightly in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes, until golden brown.
- Spoon the tomato mixture generously over each toasted baguette slice.
- Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes before serving.
Notes
For best results, use ripe, in-season tomatoes. If desired, you can lightly rub toasted baguette slices with a whole garlic clove before spooning on the tomato mixture for an extra garlic kick.
