Cooking Steps
- Cook linguine according to package directions in a large pot of salted water. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.
- Pour in white wine (or broth) and lemon juice, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 2 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly.
- Add the cooked and drained linguine to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss to combine, adding some reserved pasta water if needed to create a more cohesive sauce.
- Stir in fresh parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can marinate the shrimp in a little lemon juice and garlic powder for 15 minutes before cooking. A splash of heavy cream can be added to the sauce for a richer taste, if desired.
